Title: California Condor
Contact:
Rick Wheeler
Description:
At one time nearly extinct in the wild, the California Condor (Gymnogyps californianus) is making a slow recovery. The first captive-bred condor reintroduced into the wild in California was in 1992. Continuing this effort, Pinnacles National Monument, located in central California, sponsors a Calfornia Condor Recovery Program. This pencil study is of a juvenile condor.
