DescriptionBaringo Giraffe. This portrait of Gemina, the crooked neck giraffe from the Santa Barbara Zoo was prepared for an article on the zoo. Gemina developed a kink in her neck at an early age which has resulted in the crooked neck. Despite the abnormal look she leads a normal life and has given birth to one baby without complications. Baringo's are one of three species of giraffe found in Africa.Cover illustration, March, 2007 issue, American Zoo Keepers Forum magazine.
