DescriptionThis is a detail of the right side of my Florida Miocene habitat group reconstruction, circa 25 mya. The area depicts the interface of two ecotomes: a grass /pine savannah like that of the present day Kissimee Region and a limestone/sinkhole region analogous to some environs near the Suwannee River. The mural was prepared for the University of Florida Museum of Natural History.KeywordsDinohippus, Enhydritherium terranovae, Amebelodon britti, Borophagus purgator, Thinobadistes wetzeli, Aphelopus mutilus, Pseudoceras sp., Pediomeryx hemphillensis, Hesperotestudo sp., Alligator mefferdi, Aplone sp., Acer negundo, Juniperus sp., Quercus virginiana, Serenoa repens, Pinus palustris, Nyssa sp., Sabal palmetto, Osmunda cinnamoea, Polypodium polypodoides Media Color Categories Nature, Science Subject(s) Animal, Botanical, Geology, Fishes, Mammals, Paleontology, Vertebrates, Ecosystem, Editorial, Institutional, Landscape |
