DescriptionThe North American Beaver is depicted in a Mid-Atlantic State mixed hardwood forest habitat group. The work was commissioned by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources. Among the important elements in this acrylic painting are the Beaver's lodge and the widespread presence of Black tupelo (Nyssa sylvatica) and River birch (Betula nigra).
