»Dr Jon Heras DescriptionIllustration of neural synchrony in the human brain. Neural Synchrony proposes that if neurons from different regions of the brain want to converse they need to fire at the same point in time. Specifically, their firing patterns need to be temporally correlated. This correlated pattern of firing is often constrained to particular frequencies. This frequency-locked activity has been hypothesised to effectively open and close a window of communication between two regions. EEG and MEG have been used to measure such frequency specific activity.
